The band is now preproducing its second album. After having worked on new songs for almost a year, we’re almost ready to get in studio to rec these. The new album promises to be more powerful and straight forward than the debut. A grain of maturity, a touch of darkness… We’re real happy with what’s comping up; let’s hope you’ll all like it too.

THE dIPLOMAT will be performing live on May 28th at the H&M Store in Antwerps for the Fashion Against Aids campaign launched by the clothing company.
The band has indeed been chosen by the company’s representatives to present the mentioned collection.

Hi there,
We’re just back from Queue du Bois, near Liege, where we played for the Rock4 Festival.
The people there were very welcoming and we did set the stage on fire! A real cool gig: another argument that makes me think the choices we’ve made so far were worth it.
The new tracks we’ve been testing since Pascal’s joining the band really are working live. We need to think about production now, and start working on our next baby…

We’ll be playing in Paris at Le Reservoir (rue Forge Royale 16, 75011 Paris) for the “Cultive en Belgique” night on 31 March at 8pm.

In the meantime, the photos we made with Mr Matthieu Deluc will soon be available !!! You might have seen our myspace header already… new team, new spirit, new image. We also recently got a sponsorship deal with an international clothing company… More details soon, as some things will happen in this regard… but for now, hush!
Yesterday’s gig at L’Entrepot in Arlon was cool, even though there was not a lot of people. We had fun and tested some new songs again, which seem to work just perfectly!

Salut à tous,
Ca fait quelques jours maintenant que l’on a joué aux Red Party de Charleroi et Mons. Ca a été de purs moments de bonheur musical! Public un peu éparse à Charleroi, mais l’ambiance y était. Quant à Mons, la Chapelle était pleine à craquer et on a passé un super moment là-bas. Entre temps, on a repris le travail d’écriture et on pense déjà à quelques idées de production pour les nouveaux morceaux après les avoir testés un peu en live. Du travail en perspective donc, mais déjà nous voilà rassurés sur ces nouveaux morceaux qui semblent bien fonctionner déjà.

Hi there,
It’s been quite a few days now that we’ve played in Charleroi and Mons for the Red Party. Both gigs went on very well, and the new tracks seem to work very well live! We’re really happy about that. In the meantime, the writing process is still going on and playing the new songs live gave us many ideas production-wise, so we’ve got quite a lit of work ahead of us, but it’s all for the good and the sake of music!

Jusqu’ici, les Red Party de Liège et de Namur se sont super bien passées. On a aux deux concerts reçu un accueil super du public et les nouveaux morceaux semblent fonctionner en live, ce qui nous rassure! THE dIPLOMAT n’est définitivement pas mort, loin de là!
On espère vous croiser aux prochaines Red Party: le 20 fev 09 au Coliseum de Charleroi, le 21 fev 09 à la Chapelle de Mons, le 27 mars à l’Entrepot à Arlon et le 30 avril au Cecoco de Ciney. D’ici là, d’autres dates s’ajoutent, n’hésitez pas à passer l’oreille!

Hi! So far, the Red Parties in Liege and Namur have been amaizing. We had very good reactions from the audience at both gigs and the new songs seem to work quite well live, still need to work on them, though! THE dIPLOMAT is definitely far from being dead as some say!
We hope to see you at one of the upcoming Red Parties: 20 feb 09 at Coliseum – Charleroi, 21 feb 09 at Chapelle – Mons, 27 Mar 09 at l’Entrepot – Arlon and 30 Apr at Cecoco – Ciney. Some other gigs are also planned so stay tuned and pass it around!
